Rachel Benjamin

Writer/Director Rachel Benjamin earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from Boston College. “The Missing Peace” is Rachel Benjamin’s fifth narrative short film, and she has worked on various feature films such as Spike Lee’s Bamboozled, Barbershop I, and Spiderman II. Rachel recently graduated from the world’s largest film school, Columbia College Chicago where she received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Film and Video.

(USA, 2005) It is 1991, Haiti, A young girl negotiates her unstable community in the wake of a military coup that ousts authoritarian president Jean-Bertrand Aristide. She begins to reassess her suppliant relationships with her soldier boyfriend and her grandmother, who raises her, when she meets a bold American journalist who has come to Haiti to investigate her mother’s disappearance.
